| Reasons why having your own domain name and not belonging to MH-partners makes no sense | ||
|
1. It will take an inordinate amount of time
for you to get lots of info, links and vendor data on your site.
2. If you promote it a lot you will find the Internet is very national and you will a. either not get calls for your efforts because you are in CA from distant customers. or worse b. You will get lots of calls that pick your brain then ask for a local salesman or just call someone local c. you may generate a sale that belong to another partner. This is the main reason I started mh-partners was because of all the calls I got from distant customers. 3. If you do not join mh-partners again you will miss the leads we generate and your customers won't have access to all our links and site information unless of course you spend the time to put it on your site. 4. If you get back on mh-partners you get the best of both worlds. You can continue to develop your site and link to any of mh-partners info, still get leads on your own, and still have your customers view your site first with all its customization. 5. The only reason I see a value in having my own site(in addition to mh-partners) is for promoting specific products that you can easily sell nationwide and yet not step on other partners toes. I use ahutton.com now mostly to promote Claridge and Walltalkers. I send my Roach, Lee, Bishamon leads to partners. I do not develop any new material handling content for ahutton.com because to me it just makes no sense. 6. The other value of your own site is to showcase jobs done and tell potential customers about you.
